It’s baby squirrel season!! They’re falling from the trees like leaves…
Florida has such good weather, babies are born all year-round. But starting in August, there are so many squirrels that they start falling from the trees! Most squirrels have an average of three babies, but it usually ranges from two to five. Their eyes open at about 6 weeks and they begin nibbling on solid food.
Below is one of our flying squirrels. There are many in the Daytona Beach area but we don’t see them very often since they are so small, quiet and nocturnal!
