Types of wildlife we have in the Daytona Beach Area (mammal species):
Florida Panther (rarely seen this far north) Moles, rats and rarely mice are also found in the area. Mice are the only ones native to the area. Other species that are not native to our area may occasionally be found here having been released by negligent "pet" owners or wildlife exhibitors. They include: jaguarundi, groundhog, iguanas, monitors, spider monkeys, etc.
